Code of Conduct

Last updated: March 19, 2025

Girls Code Savannah works hard to create an amazing experience for all participants. Likewise, each participant is also a part of creating an amazing experience for everyone involved. We all work together to treat one another with respect and kindness in order to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative coding environment.

This Code of Conduct is intended to set clear behavioral expectations for all Girls Code Savannah camps & classes so that all participants, including students, staff members, instructors, volunteers, organizers, hosts, family members, community members, guests, and guest speakers feel welcome and encouraged.

Participation in Girls Code Savannah camps & classes is subject to the observance of the organization’s rules and procedures. The behaviors outlined in the bullets below are strictly prohibited. Any participant who violates this Code of Conduct is subject to consequences, up to and including immediate and permanent removal from the program.

We have removed participants from our program in the past due to Code of Conduct violations and have zero qualms about doing so in the future. Our highest goal is to maintain a safe, supportive, and collaborative coding environment so that each participant has the opportunity to fully realize their own talents, gifts, skills, and coding potential.

Rather than interpreting this Code of Conduct as an aggressive document, we hope that each reader will see it through the lens of our deep dedication to protecting the safety and experience of each student we have the privilege of instructing and that of all other Girls Code Savannah program participants.

It is also required that the parent or guardian of each registered student reviews this Code of Conduct with the student before the student attends a Girls Code Savannah camp or class.

Our Code of Conduct is a living document and may be updated as needed to preserve a safe, supportive, and collaborative Girls Code Savannah coding environment.
