Fall 2025 Saturday Sessions

Image Galleries, Gen AI SVGs,
& The Student Becomes The Teacher

During our Fall 2025 Saturday Sessions our Beginner Students started their coding & technology journeys by building a basic Student Website. Our Returning Students coded a new page containing an interactive image gallery (like the one seen here) for their Student Websites.

Our Returning Students also used Generative AI (Gen AI) to prompt-engineer unique Scalable Vector Graphics (SVGs) and then further customize them stylistically through code.

And, for the first time, one of our long-time students Janani Kumar — a 9th-grader at Jenkins High School (seen in the last gallery photo) — joined the Girls Code Savannah team as an Assistant Instructor.

More of our long-time students will join the Girls Code Savannah team as Assistant Instructors in Spring 2026 and beyond.

Summer Camp 2025

Building a Website for a Savannah Woman Entrepreneur

Summer Camp 2025 was our most innovative & inspiring summer camp yet! From July 21st‐25th our students gathered at the SW Chatham branch of the Live Oak Public Library & acted as one large tech team to build FoiledPretty.com — a website for a Savannah woman entrepreneur in the beauty industry preparing to launch online sales in Fall 2025.

In the process of creating the new website, our students learned a lot about entrepreneurship, economics, and business concepts like marketing & product-market fit. And, for the first time, our advanced students were paid for their tech & coding efforts!

In order to build the new website & create supporting digital content, Girls Code Savannah students formed  Graphic Design, Digital Media, UI/UX Coding, & Data Engineering tech sub‐teams. They also began incorporating Generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT & Perplexity, into their tech workflow to support content and image creation.

All photos & videos in the sliding gallery above were composed and created by our digital media student sub‐team. Those students focused on both in‐the‐moment & creative ways to capture their fellow Girls Code Savannah team members and “out‐of‐the‐box” ways to promote & display the client's product. The professional product photos seen on the homepage of FoiledPretty.com were taken by local Savannah photographer Haley Emory of Emory Photography.

Summer Camp 2025 ended in triumph for all involved! Our instructors had as much fun as our students.

And our Girls Code Savannah Summer Camp 2025 Playlist kept us pumped before, during, & after our week-long tech and coding extravaganza.

Check out the playlist on Spotify & Amazon Music.
